How do you promote a newsletter on LinkedIn?

To promote a newsletter on LinkedIn, turn each edition into a few LinkedIn posts that each share one idea, and post about five times a week. Keep the link for the end of a long post or the first comment, because LinkedIn shrank link previews. Add your newsletter to your profile’s Contact info, which takes up to three website links for free. Every member can also start a LinkedIn newsletter, but its subscribers live on LinkedIn, not on your list. I build Quibr, which writes LinkedIn posts from each edition.

Disclosure: I am Vicente Évora, the founder of Quibr, which writes and publishes LinkedIn posts from each newsletter edition. LinkedIn’s rules here come from its own help pages, read on 27 October 2026.

What should you post on LinkedIn to promote a newsletter?

Posts that stand on their own. A stranger scrolling LinkedIn has never read your newsletter, so a post that only says “new edition out” gives them nothing. A post that teaches one thing from the edition gives them a reason to want the rest.

  • A lesson: one thing you learned, with the example behind it.
  • A list: three to five points from one section of the edition.
  • A story: what happened, what changed, in short paragraphs.
  • A number: one figure from the edition and what it means.

Write for LinkedIn’s readers, not X’s. The same idea usually needs more context and a calmer opening on LinkedIn. For the routine across all platforms, read how to promote a newsletter on social media.

Should you start a LinkedIn newsletter as well?

“All LinkedIn members have access to create a newsletter on LinkedIn.”

LinkedIn help, “LinkedIn Newsletter access criteria”

A LinkedIn Page is different: it needs more than 150 followers or connections, recent original content and a good record before LinkedIn considers it.

The trade-off is ownership. People who subscribe to a LinkedIn newsletter follow it on LinkedIn, not on beehiiv, Substack or Ghost. If your goal is your own list, use LinkedIn posts to send people to your newsletter, and treat a LinkedIn newsletter as an extra, not a replacement.

How often should you post on LinkedIn?

About five times a week, one post per weekday, for at least 30 days. That is Newsletter Operator’s starting schedule, and it names LinkedIn as one of the two platforms that suit most newsletters.

One edition a week gives you enough for five posts if it holds five ideas. If it holds fewer, post fewer times rather than repeat yourself.

Can you connect Substack or beehiiv to LinkedIn?

Not as an automatic poster on its own. You can add your newsletter’s address to your profile’s Contact info. To post from each new edition, use a tool that reads your newsletter’s RSS feed and posts to LinkedIn. Substack’s feed is at /feed. beehiiv makes one when you create it in Settings, RSS. The steps for every platform are in how to post a newsletter to social media automatically.

How does Quibr post to LinkedIn?

Quibr reads each new edition from your feed and writes LinkedIn posts from it, against a LinkedIn persona built from posts you have already published. It attaches images from the edition where they fit and spreads the posts over the following days.

  • X 20
  • LinkedIn 7
  • Facebook 3
One edition in my own test run became 30 posts, 7 of them for LinkedIn. My own run, a sample of one.

On LinkedIn, Quibr keeps the link in the post. It cannot add a first comment, because LinkedIn opens commenting through its API only to approved partners. On X, it posts the link as a reply.

Frequently asked questions

How do I promote my Substack on LinkedIn?

Post ideas from each edition as LinkedIn posts, end long posts with your Substack link or put it in the first comment, and add your Substack address to your profile’s Contact info.

Can anyone create a LinkedIn newsletter?

Every LinkedIn member can, according to LinkedIn’s help. A LinkedIn Page needs more than 150 followers or connections, recent original content and a good record.

Can I add a link to the top of my LinkedIn profile?

Only with a custom button, which needs Premium Business. LinkedIn removed the free link it used to offer through Creator Mode. Your Contact info still takes up to three website links for free.

Does LinkedIn limit posts with links?

LinkedIn does not officially restrict links, according to Social Media Today, but it made link previews smaller unless the post is promoted.

How often should I post on LinkedIn to grow a newsletter?

About five times a week for at least 30 days, as Newsletter Operator suggests, as long as each post has a real idea in it.

Vicente writes Notes to 10K MRR, a weekly build-in-public newsletter on beehiiv, alongside university and a part-time job. Every edition went out on time, and the social posts that were supposed to follow it never did.

He built Quibr to write those posts for him. It started as an idea on 26 November 2024, and the first version shipped in January 2025. Quibr is built and run by one person, and Vicente answers support email himself.
